Position vacancy:  FULL-TIME MINISTER (Cantonese)

An opportunity to build an effective ministry in our Cantonese Congregations!

We are an evangelical interdenominational, contemporary, cross-generational church with a tradition of strong Bible teaching, an ethos of serving in ministry, and an emphasis on both local and global mission.

The entire West Sydney Chinese Christian Church has almost 900 people across 8 services (conducted in 3 languages and in 2 suburbs of Sydney). There is a current pastoral team of 4 (and seeking 2 more).

Our Cantonese speaking congregations are first and second generation migrants. We seek a bilingual full-time Minister and a full-time Pastor, fluent in Cantonese, in touch with Australian society to grow our congregations in line with our local and global visions.

Some of our strengths available for building upon include:
• A supportive congregations willing to be involved in ministry, and an active core leadership team to work with
• A strong focus on global mission and on sending missionaries
• A vibrant youth ministry with great potential, led by a strong team of enthusiastic youth leaders
• Partnership with our existing minister and other pastoral team members
• Strong existing relationships with Bible colleges (particularly SMBC) and mission organisations
• Great facilities and equipment to support ministry

If you hold an evangelical perspective, have undertaken theological training, have experience in local church ministry and are willing to work in an interdenominational church structure, WSCCC Cantonese Congregations could be the opportunity for you!

Cross-cultural understanding or experience within the Australian society is important, particularly of Australian-born Chinese.
